Tarantism Disco

Tarantism Disco is a unique phenomenon, 2 veterans of the festival scene playing stripped down dance tunes and disco from the 70’ and 90’s. It really shouldn’t work but it does, and with any audience, anywhere. Using just vocals, a drum and some whistles and an acoustic guitar they manage to sound like a full band and without using any effects or trickery. Mel Roger’s powerful vocals and Magnus Martin’s imaginative arrangements bring out the quality in the writing of the songs they perform. The effect on the audience is simply joyful giving audiences permission to smile and dance. Tarantism disco have performed their set at festivals and venues all over the country including the Big Green Gathering, Hawkfest and Glastonbury.

“They tore through some of the best floor fillers of the 70’s and 90’s...There were 2 types of people in town that night. Those who had experienced the folk disco and those who had not.” Peppermint Iguana Zine 2019.
