Our Ethos

One of the UK’s best-loved and most successful festivals...

Camp Bestival combines action-packed festival adventures with a fantastic family camping holiday; something that we like to call a Festi-Holiday!

Camp Bestival started at at Lulworth Castle in Dorset in 2008, and was awarded Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards in its first year subsequently winning the awards’ Best Family Festival accolade six times, in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017, and most recently in 2019. Camp Bestival is a member of the Live Events Access Charter, and gained a Silver award from Attitude Is Everything in 2023. The Lulworth edition of Camp Bestival has also won Best Family Festival at the Family Traveller Awards in 2015 & 2017, and won their Pure Fun award in 2019, taking home the special Kids Vote, too, as voted for by a panel of children.

In 2022, the festival pitched this splendid sister event, Camp Bestival Shropshire, which brings all the unique and essential elements that have made the Dorset edition one of the country’s best-loved festivals to the heart of England in Weston Park. Jam-packed with entertainment, from stellar musical morsels and cultural delights to stunning sideshow attractions and lashings of family fun, it’s got all of the magic ingredients that are authentically Camp Bestival.

Featuring all manner of kids entertainment, we’ll make sure your little ones are utterly spoilt for choice. There are a host of thrilling activities and family fun from soft play and circus skills to bush-craft, and the world’s biggest bouncy castle, and much more excitement for kids of all ages spread across the spacious grounds of Weston park. Plus, there are kids’ shows and performances on the Park Stage and in the Big Top, daring antics and crafty delights to be had at Wild Tribe, and fairy-tale escapism in the Silent Forest and beyond.

Camp Bestival’s amazing music line-up is curated by renowned music specialist Rob da Bank whose penchant for eclecticism has seen the Lulworth Castle edition of the show jumping to the legendary likes of Chuck Berry, De la Soul, Brian Wilson, Madness & Fatboy Slim playing alongside hordes of up and coming acts who we’ve given a nurturing nudge on their way to stardom, including Florence & the Machine, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, London Grammar, Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, among many others. So, expect more of the same kind of incredible talent to rock Camp Bestival Shropshire. From folk and dub to drumstep and jazz jungle, there’s guaranteed to be something to get you and the kids throwing shapes long into the summer evenings.

With a consummate arts programme that offers the best in contemporary theatre, performance, spoken word and discussions, there is a wealth of wonder and intellectual nourishment for all ages to get stuck into. Add to that amazing street-eats and gourmet treats, fantastic campsite facilities (we pioneered reserved camping plots with Camping Plus, and we have always been at the forefront of fantastic Boutique Camping options), all sprinkled liberally with Camp Bestival’s own inimitable brand of magic, and you have a unique start to the summer holidays and the ultimate family festival experience.

Featuring dazzling creative flare and an all-embracing music programme curated respectively by Josie and Rob da Bank, Camp Bestival is a family affair. It is the realisation of an artistic vision that channels years of experience at the peak of the party scene into a genuine eye-popping, mind-expanding, and unforgettable festival experience created especially for the whole family. And now you’ll be spoilt for choice as that vision has two homes –  Camp Bestival Shropshire, and Camp Bestival Dorset, where it all began.
